Rank Interchange Problem: In these type of question the candidate is give the rank of two person from left and right end respectively. Further the candidate is given the position of one person after they interchange their positions. The position of the other person is to be calculated.
Illustration : - In a row Ravi is 22nd from left end and Priya is 23rd from right end. When they interchange their position respectively, then Priya becomes 31st from right end. Then what will be Ravi's position from left interchanging ?
A. 27 B. 28 C. 30 D. 31 E. Either A or B

Solution : - Given
Rank of Ravi from the Left End = 22
Rank of Priya from the Right end = 23
After interchange
Rank of Priya from the Right end = 31
As Priya has occupied the position of Ravi, and we know the rank of Ravi from left end before interchange
So Rank of Priya from the Left End = 22
Total No = Rank of Ravi from left end after interchange + Rank of Priya from right end after interchange - 1.
Then Total No. = 31 + 22 - 1 = 53 - 1= 52
Ravi rank from left after interchange = Total No. - Rank of Ravi from right after interchange + 1.
As Ravi has occupied the position of Priya, and we know the rank of Priya from right end before interchange
So Rank of Ravi after interchange from the Right End = 23
Then, Rank of Ravi from left end after interchange = 52 - 23 + 1 = 29 + 1 = 30
Hence the correct option is C
